Tracking smugglers along the Mexican border: "Under a scorching sun in the harsh desert along Highway 9 in southern New Mexico, Border Patrol agents Rito Jara and Juan Treviso are quickly on the move, scouring the hard ground, trying to pick up footprints from suspected drug smugglers or immigrants who entered the U.S. illegally from Mexico."

This is clearly what happens when Kowalski and Vecchio finally, finally get Fraser to take a normal vacation for a change. One with no criminals, no snow, and lots of sun. Yup. Uh-huh.

(All jokes aside, I hope that's going well for those guys...)

Um, posted fic to ds_flashfiction for the first time in forever. I keep feeling like there's something I forgot to do...it's probably gonna end up being that I left the stove on, or I forgot to close an html tag, or I completely forgot to write the conflict resolution. Oh well. These are the hazards of 3:30 AM.

Looking fer some good podfic. Any fandom, so long as it's got a good rhythm to it. I'm having some trouble getting the rhythm right when I'm reading narration with dialogue in, and I figure the only way to manage is to listening to good examples, right?

Any suggestions?

Gah. I. Paul Gross in Eastwick. He is like -- some sort of bizarre, vastly improbable combination of Geoffrey Tennant, Patrick Kelly, Ianto Jones, Jack Harkness, and Smoking Hot Thing. Oh, and Callum Keith Rennie, I swear to God. I don't even know what to to think. I am not even sure I like it. In fact, I am pretty sure I want Fraser back.

La la la, I put a section for Torchwood stuff on my site. Just, you know, I seemed to have written a bunch of stuff in that area, and I seem to have a bunch of ideas to be written for it, and -- yeah. It just seemed like the most logical thing to do, all right?

*does not have commitment issues AT ALL. Not even a little bit.*

Oh my god, this was supposed to be a quick one-shot and yet I've been slaving over it for weeks. Stupid, stupid writer's block, and new fandom block, and ideas that span the whole damn series and thus require me to re-watch every episode, so as to recreate setting properly. I have now totally reached the "YOU ARE DONE NOW, FIC, QUIT MESSING WITH MY HEAD" stage -- so, hey! Happy birthday! You should have what is a very naughty and badly behaved fic, that has caused me much distress and woe. *glares at it*

5177 words. Jack/Ianto, angst, spoilers for the whole series including CoE. Warning for canon character death.

"Blimey, there's a gorgeous fellow," says a lilting voice behind him. "He your boyfriend, or something?"

...

What the hell, Jack thinks, and slides the picture across the table so she can get a better look. "You know," he says, forcing a smile, "that's a long story."

So, this is from my Writing Exercise Grab-Bag: "F/K, break it thoroughly, leave 'em apart for several years, put 'em back together.". That's pretty much it, only I didn't have the patience to leave them apart for several years, and also I saw an interesting pattern in canon, so I changed it to a couple months instead.
